Léa is an artificial intelligence

What Léa does if someone is in danger

If someone says they want to hurt themselves, that they are in danger or that someone is hurting them, Léa stops the practice, answers kindly in their own language, tells them their feelings matter and that they should talk now to someone they trust or to a helpline. Under that message, the app shows how to find their country's helpline (this page). Léa does not give specific numbers because she does not know which country each person is in.

We count how many times this happens, without storing who it was or what they said, to check that it works.

What Léa does not do

If you are 16 or 17

On top of the above, if you talk with Léa for a long time without a break, every 3 hours the app reminds you that she is an AI and suggests taking a break.

Report

Under what Léa writes there is a "Report" button. If something is not right, let us know: we review it and it helps Léa get better.
